ANNUAL REPORT: GURUSHARAN EDUCATION TRUST 2010-11
INTRODUCTION
The
trust has its origin for educational development and in persuasion of the same
the populaces targeted were the downtrodden, orphans and Martyr’s kids. A need
was felt for quality education for such kids who has a number of policies and
guidelines listed for them for their upliftment but
the general awareness is always lacking. Being the player of the back stage
they are more than hesitant to come forward to collect their support which is
also their right. In such field it is also observed that these students/kids
are also trapped in wrong hands. A trend is also seen that despite various
efforts such categories of students do not shy away and come forward but has a
strong negativity against a policy. An attempt is always made towards moulding their thoughts; but instead of running and
convincing such students regularly the positive personalities amongst them are welcomed
by the Trust and they are shown the path of excellence.
In
doing so a group of such categories of students are formed only on the basis of
their competency level. Counseling, guidance and proper mentoring is tried to
be provided not only academically but also in various extra- curricular
activities. They are exposed to the present day education pattern and with the
help of computer aided courses and classes and are kept paced up with the help
of online internet facility only for their educational needs.
A
word regarding the orphans and the martyr’s kids; despite the large existing
policies and financial assistance their rights are directly controlled by the
big bosses in their families as their mothers are mostly illiterate or the
orphanage claims for their education only till certain time. The trust apart
from motivating and bringing them forward also provide a stick of proper
guidance which can become the ladder of their success/educational excellence.
The trust reaches out to places and targets specific location under its scope
to be developed.
There
is still lot to learn in the process of making them learn.

SUMMARY OF ACTIVITIES
INTRODUCTION
The
trust ran the project Dhyey and Manthan
successfully in Ranchi and the beneficiaries were more than 80 students of all
categories. Due to insufficient resources the trust was unable to reach out to
the target kids but after the formation of the Gurusharan education society
started to extend its help to the rural and tribal kids of Jharkhand. In hardly
any time the trust shifted from its first office at Dumardaga
to Mc Cluskieganj. The main
aim was to assist the Society in developing the inter college thereby
fulfilling its own objective and also to support the cause at a single location
for better command and control.
The
students of the 2010 AISSCE appearing students fared well in examinations and
most of them cleared important competitive entrance tests making us proud,
increasing our morale and motivation to keep growing in the right direction.
The Trust along with the Society started working in the rural areas of
McCluskieganj which is heavily infested with Naxals and
even the basic facilities to the region are missing. The region being the
heartland of the Naxals if feared by many
organizations to enter but the Trust took the initiative and found that the
environment and the attitude of the locals for the educational institutes are
very positive. The locals and rurals came forward
open heartedly and helped us in setting and re-establishing the Dhyey project there. Till now almost 100+ students of all
classes and streams are making use of the facility and the general educational
standard of associated students is seen to rise.
The
Chas centre of primary education and health facility continued with its more
than expected performance and helped 200+ students and individuals of the poor
and marginalized section.

The

College by the Society and a different location was hired to run the Dhyey classes with the library facility common with the Inter
College whilst the computer lab was now without the net facility but was used
as a computer centre for the students also used by the Inter College. With the
availability of full fledged faculties the tutorial
arrangement was used by a number of students covering 3-4 villages of Mc Cluskieganj. The
teachers/faculties also visited many locations to generate awareness amongst
the interior located rurals. Though the students were
of the Govt schools but the education part was
provided only by our faculties in the post afternoon sessions. The number of
such students varied from 80 – 90.

Quarterly
summary
Quarter
1 (April 2010 – June 2010)
The
quarter kept us busy with the involvement more in the formation of the La Veda
Inter College by our sisterly organization the Gurusharan education Society. In
the mean while the centre at the ranchi was controlled and coordinated by the
receptionist Ms Urvashi who
controlled the activities and the library to the expectation. The concept at
present was used by many few students as they were either busy in their
preparation or in their vacation. The premises were open only in the office
hours and the visit of the students restricted for the library and the net
usage.
At
3DD School only 05 new students got enrolled that too in the kindergarten
section and rest continued the way it was going
During
this period a total of 03 health camps at the premises itself was organized
mainly for the students only, with the polluted environment there was a lot of

specific individual problems were attended and medicines were distributed.
